Team Member Monday: 7 Questions with Telemark Coach Greg Dixon

Catch up with members of the PSIA-AASI National Team as they discuss how they are staying in shape this summer, making goals for next winter, and creating new educational resources for the association.

This week, we talk to PSIA Telemark Team Coach Greg Dixon.

How are you staying busy?

Greg Dixon: Lots of mountain biking on open trails. Working on PSIA projects. My new wife has some home projects for me including sand and paint the deck, build garden beds, fix the shed, etc… Oh and #formalfriday, date night with nice attire and a delicious meal.

What is your go-to offseason workout?

Greg: Mountain biking! Keep fit by putting in the miles. Also a morning stretch, push up, pull up, sit up routine.

What are your big goals for next season?

Greg: Develop an awesome training program for our snowsports school at Mt. Bachelor. Build more telemark educational products for the membership. Ski 175 days.

Which digital resource would you recommend for other members right now?

Greg: PSIA NW offers Remote MA Courses that are available to all members for alpine, snowboard, and telemark disciplines. I also run a PSIA Telemark Facebook page where I post current events and educational material.

What’s your favorite ski movie?

Greg: G.N.A.R. and Steep

What educational initiative or taskforce project are you working on right now?

Greg: Building our new National Standards off of the Learning Outcomes. Developing our Telemark specific Performance Guide to accompany the National Standards. Editing Matrix video content to compliment the Performance Guide.

Any shout out to members you would like to share?

Greg: Katie Feucht – Divisional Clinic Leader from PSIA NW and National Alpine Team Candidate for 2021. She developed the Remote MA platform that is taking off right now. She has multiple sessions running in three disciplines. It’s an outstanding course that is so in need right now.
