Presented by Francine Tone, a three-time #1 Bestselling Author, and strategic business advisor and speaker, this interactive webinar will cover the people skills corner of the Learning Connection model. Learn how to identify emotions in others with an emphasis on micro-expressions. Awareness of micro-expressions helps you more accurately read the emotions of others. This course will identify tools to strengthen connecting with your staff, peers, and guests.

“Fran has knack for engaging audiences and has developed this interactive web meeting to weave in creative aspects of engagement normally found during a face-to-face workshop,” said PSIA-AASI Director of Education Dave Schuiling.

“We’ll use Zoom meeting to make sure everyone can share their web cams and bring micro expressions to the screens,” he said. “This web-based practice will transfer naturally to a live environment as we become more aware of the impact of non-verbal communication and how to better read the emotions of others.”

After this Program, You’ll…

  1. Have a better understanding of how to identify micro-expressions of emotions.
  2. Have a better understanding of the benefits of identifying emotions of others and how it impacts a ski or snowboard lesson.
  3. Have the opportunity to practice emotional identification.
  4. Leave with tools to continue to improve their skills.

Program Description

Identifying emotions of others is a core leadership skill because it gives you access to a large amount of data that we typically ignore. Emotions communicate a large amount of data, a large amount of information in an interaction, but emotional displays are very fast and subtle and we’ve been trained to ignore them.

The ability to identify emotions comes with a “halo effect.” Identifying emotions is a subcategory of nonverbal behavior and involves nonverbal decoding. When you are good at this skill, people attribute a range of other positive skills to you. Nonverbal decoding is related to higher relational quality. People with poor nonverbal decoding skills are perceived as rigid and lacking social skills while those who are skilled are viewed as skilled in all areas of social interaction.

This training will help you connect more effectively with other instructors and your students so you can build stronger relationships and leave a lasting impression.
