Ski and Snowboard Training Coordinator

Position Type: Part-Time, Seasonal, 10+ hours a week (Mid-November-April)
Schedule: Variable, Weekend, night and holiday work required
Location: Park City Mountain Resort and other resort locations

Job Summary

The National Ability Center’s Ski and Snowboard program seeks a Training & Education Manager to function as an integral part of continued education for Ski and Snowboard staff in winter operations with the organization’s largest recreation program.  A primary function of this and every other job at the National Ability Center is to ensure that each member, guest, and visitor receives the highest caliber of service.

Core Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Function as the primary link for training between snow-sport instructors and management
  • Plan training and coordinate clinicians (both internal and external) for winter training
  • Update and create new training outlines on program drive as needed
  • Communicate National Ability Center and program specific information and policies as needed
  • Answer questions and provide support to snow-sport instructors about training opportunities, requirements and certifications
  • Track on training attendance and instructor status with required training
  • Consistently seek program feedback to maintain high quality programs and service delivery standards
  • Consult with Program Managers about programmatic training, equipment needs based on observation or via feedback from snow-sport instructors
  • Implement, maintain, and supervise safety/risk management protocols and equipment in a caring and fun environment for participants, volunteers and staff
  • Assist the Volunteer Coordinator with scheduling appropriate staff resources for volunteer training
  • Create a nurturing, positive, and professional environment while promoting program policies and procedures among staff, volunteers and community
  • Communicate pertinent program related feedback to necessary stakeholders
  • Attend and engage in required staff meetings and training
  • Comply with National Ability Center safety and health policies and procedures
  • Other duties as identified

  • Strong computer skills including intermediate or higher-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and other business and Internet applications

  • Experience with individuals with disabilities and adaptive programming and equipment preferred
