Winter Program Coordinator

Reports to: Program Director / Executive Director

Compensation: $15.50 to $18.50 / hour (DOE)

Location: West Dover, Vermont

Role Summary: The Winter Program Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the
program director with all daily operations of the winter programs.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Be in the program room for scheduled hours to answer phones and assist in daily operations.
  • Greet students, their families & volunteers who come into the program room.
  • Issue lift tickets to volunteers and students as needed and record who receives them.
  • Give students/families rental paperwork if needed.
  • Confirm that all student paperwork is complete and ask student/family to complete it if needed.

    • Student Waivers (liability and media)
  • Assist with volunteer needs such as uniforms, waivers etc.
  • Assist with any fundraising events occurring (ex. selling raffle tickets).
  • Take messages regarding lesson scheduling to relay to Program Director who will handle all lesson scheduling unless otherwise directed.
  • Receive cash, checks and other payments; record and process financial information through computer hardware and software.
  • Completing any COVID related cleaning/sanitizing of the office area as determined by the ASMS current COVID Procedures.
  • The Winter Program Coordinator will be expected to complete tasks independent of direct supervision from the program director.
  • Expected to assist in teaching adaptive snowsports (snowshoe, ski, or snowboard).
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

EDUCATION

  • High School Degree
  • Work experience may provide educational equivalency

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in an office or customer service position preferred.
  • Experience in working in snowsports school/training center preferred.
  • PSIA-AASI certification is preferred.
  • Experience working in an office or customer service position preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary: Microsoft office, email and basic database.
  • Experience working with children, youth and/or families with disabilities is preferred.
  • Experience in working with non-profit organizations is desirable.
  • Website management and/or social media management is desirable but not mandatory (work example or reference must be provided).

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must be able to ski/ride blue terrain with confidence.

Physical / Mental Requirements 

  • Inside physical requirements are consistent with office filing and organization as well as indoor storage of program supplies.
  • Must be able to work in a busy, at times noisy, environment.
  • Must be able to adapt your communication to the needs of the students.

Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environmental Requirements 

  • Inside conditions are consistent with office related responsibilities.
  • The WPC is expected to work most weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions (below 0 degrees, high winds, snowstorms, rain, or ice) for up to 3 hours at a time (breaks provided).
  • Is expected to own their own ski/ride equipment.
  • This position is seasonal, part time (up to 30/week). Starts November 1 through April 1.

Organizational Relationships 

The WPC reports primarily to the Program Director. There will be times that the WPC may also receive direction from the Executive Director. Compliance with Mount Snow operation policies as required is expected. May interface with Mount Snow Ski and Ride School leadership, ticketing departments, ski patrol and lift operations often.
