Curtis Herbert, the creative mind behind the Slopes app, shares how Slopes started and his goal for the future. Join the Slopes Challenge to track your vertical stats for the month of January. Earn College Credit with the Penn State Professional Snowsports Education Certificate

PSIA-AASI and Penn State University have been collaborating since 2016 on standardizing and unifying the assessment process for exams across the country. Starting this month, you will be able to earn up to nine college credits through PSU’s World Campus by completing the Professional Snowsports Education Certificate.

Dr. Pete Allison, an associate professor in the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management at Penn State University, shares how this completely online education option can be done anywhere. Courses are catered to the outdoor and leisure industry, prepare you to complete a PSIA-AASI Level I certification, and include a course on leadership development. All three courses are meant to onboard, train, and outboard snowsports instructors. There are also plans to create more courses toward Level II and Level III certifications.
