Seasonal Ski School Training Manager

Location: Mt Snow, Dover, VT


Responsible for the creation, administration, and quality of the training program for all Ski & Snowboard School management, Mount Snow Training Center coaches, and Ski and Ride School instructor staff. Responsible for the seasonal development of new and returning on-snow staff. Responsible to design, publish, and manage the training curriculum, websites, online training, training materials, tools, and calendars. The Training Manager should aim to create training specific to both the professional and personal needs of the staff in conjunction with industry trends and best practices. Responsible for quality of instruction and processes within the school. Works with team members to manage, facilitate and assure the quality of the centralized training between all Core Areas. Leads and models delivery of training on-snow and indoors. Teaches the public and helps in operations. Reports directly to the Director of Skier Services.


  • Coordinate and administer staff training/education in all disciplines and age groups to assure the most positive internal and external guest experience. Display innovative techniques, service levels, and methodology, and incorporate risk awareness and safety at all levels of training.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training content and methods from a guest and employee perspective to ensure exceptional guest experience and relevance.
  • Work with Health & Safety to develop and implement safety measures to improve the overall safety of instructors and guests.
  • Work with the Director of Skier Services, Competitions Services Manager, and Sr. Ski and Ride School Manager to guide and facilitate the direction, culture, and quality of the Ski & Snowboard School and Mount Snow Training Center.
  • Exercise full supervisory authority, directly and indirectly, over Training Staff, and indirect supervisory authority of all on-snow ski and snowboard staff.
  • Design, orchestrate and facilitate Trainer’s Training.
  • Maintain contacts with external presenter/trainers and develop/search for new presenters to deliver training. Book dates, negotiate fees, arrange venues, handle logistics, A/V, etc.
  • Design and facilitate fall and ongoing management team training.
  • Help foster positive culture and morale across the school.
  • Ensure teamwork, efficiency, and consistency of systems across the different locations working with the Location Managers and Assistant Training Managers/Supervisors.
  • Help to support and lead daily operations in the Core Areas when needed.
  • Be a role model for excellence in training, coaching, leading, and communicating. Liaison to PSIA/AASI, USSA, and USASA.
  • Assist with the development and management of budget according to corporate guidelines.
  • Oversee the publishing of all written training materials/tools. E.g. teaching handbooks, online training, all hiring materials, etc.



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have 5 years of experience as a ski/snowboard Instructor and/or Trainer
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
  • Must be fluent in English written and verbal


  • PSIA/AASI Advanced Educator/Examiner
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills
  • Supervisory/Management Experience

Experience Required

  • Must have 5 years of experience as a ski/snowboard Instructor and/or Trainer
